Michael A. Francus is an attorney who focuses his practice on civil forfeiture litigation, in particular impact litigation cases. He has designed and litigated challenges to state and federal forfeiture laws, including challenges to burdens of proof and administrative processes used in forfeitures.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Francus worked as an associate at Kirkland & Ellis from 2018 to 2021. There he focused on appeals, litigating matters in state and federal courts in areas including bankruptcy, copyright, product liability, and contract disputes, among others. His pro bono practice centered on civil forfeiture and pursuing impact litigation cases.

Mr. Francus is a graduate of Stanford Law School and clerked for the Honorable Stephanos Bibas of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
